The student lighthouse team at Ashmore Elementary met early this month to come up with some ideas for possible Ashmore buck rewards. Two of our Firefly members (both first grade students) presented the group's ideas to our PTO at this month's meeting. Way to lead and find your voices! #ashmorecusd1

One of the best times of the year is Grandparents' Week at Ashmore Elementary! We were so excited to see so many family members come in and eat lunch with our leaders. A special thank you to our PTO who ran the book fair and to our anonymous donor who gave every student the opportunity to pick out a book from the fair. REMINDER: Tomorrow is School Picture Day at Ashmore Elementary School!

Ashmore Elementary would like to say THANK YOU! Students set a goal this school year to collect enough bottle caps for new additions to our playground. We are excited to say that we reached that goal! The next step was to sort out caps. Students, parents, and volunteers came out tonight to help with the sorting. Pizza + Movie = Happy Leaders! Ashmore students set goals for themselves for the winter MAP Test and met them. To celebrate their hard work, we had a schoolwide celebration with lunch and a movie together in the gym. #ashmorecusd1

Today was a bittersweet day at Ashmore Elementary. Today we said goodbye to Miss Gail, who knows all the students by name, knows all of their likes and dislikes, is always ready with a hug or a silly hat to bring a smile to our faces. November 1st kicks off Ashmore Elementary’s annual Leader in Me food drive. We were lucky to have Mr. Foster from the Charleston Food Pantry come in and talk to the students about why we collect the food and who benefits from it. Students will be tracking to see how much food we can raise and the class with the most will get a celebration! Let’s Begin With the End in Mind and raise some food! #ashmorecusd1
